School

Pupilsī pens write
down many things.
Pupils open their books
and do their sums.

Then itīs time for lunch
and afterwards kids gallop to the schoolyard.
When the bell rings for the last time that day,
everygody can go home.

All of us run home,
but we have to remember our homework.
The classroom gets empty
and the whole school quitens down.

Rain

I lean to the window and listen to
the rain rattling to the ground
and thunder rumbling somewhere.

I watch trees swaying in the wind
and people turning their umbrellas right side out.
I go to the hall, put on a raincoat.

Oh, how fresh the air can be!
I let the rain lash my face
and the wind toss through my hair.

I jump in the puddles.
My trousers are soaking wet and wellies full of water,
but I think it doesnīt matter now!
I just want to enjoy the rain.

I look up at the sky.
The sky is getting clearer and the ground drier.
Iīm smiling.
Come rain or shine,
I nevertheless have a good time in all weathers.
